20 WEEKS PREGNANT!

I am 20 weeks and 4 days pregnant today! Woo hoo! I am half way though my pregnancy! I can NOT believe it! Seems like just yesterday we found out we were expecting! The most exciting thing about week 20 is that Jody finally felt the baby kick! When I had my ultrasound yesterday they told me the baby was head down (at this point he can flip into different positions everyday). When I got home I felt him moving and sure enough it was pretty obvious that he was head down because the kicks were near my belly button instead of low like they usually are. I got Jody to put his hand on my stomach and immediately the baby kicked him! So far that is the only kick Jody has been able to feel but hopefully within another week or two he will be able to feel the baby more as he grows and gets stronger.

Symptoms for this week are.........NAUSEA! Yep, the nausea is back :(! I'm not sure if it's the heat or what but I have been having nauseous/lightheaded spells. Normally if I sit down for a few mins the feeling goes away though.

We had our "anatomy scan ultrasound" yesterday. They do this around 20 weeks to look at the baby's organs. They reconfirmed that he is still a boy :)! We also got some surprising news....he is HUGE! Haha! The average size for a 20 week fetus is 10.5 ounces. Butterbean weighs 15! The doctor asked me if I was feeling him move around any yet and I said "yes" and the doc said "a little bit?" and I said "no I feel him alot haha!" then she laughed and said "well, that's because he is big!". She said he is the the 86th percentile for his weight meaning he is bigger than 86% of other 20 week babies haha!

The doc also said that everything looks perfect except for one of Butterbean's kidneys are enlarged. She said this is not that uncommon with boys. Sometimes they have a leaky valve in their kidney that causes urin reflux and the urin ends up flowing backwards back into the kidney instead of down into the bladder. She told me not to be too concerned because 9 times out of 10 the problem clears up before they are born. She said she is going to do another ultrasound in 4 weeks to see if the kidney shrinks back down any. If it doesn't shrink then there is nothing they can do about it until he is born. If the problem doesn't clear up he may have to have a stint put in after he is born. She said this is unlikely though and that I shouldn't worry myself about it. I feel pretty confident everything will be ok but of course I'm going to worry I tiny bit! Who wouldn't!? So we will have to pray for Butterbean's little kidney between now and his birthday!

Here is my 20 week belly shot:

For those for you who think I am not showing... I am! I'm just really good at hiding my "bump" haha. Here is another belly shot from a little bit of a different angle with my hand on my belly!

Hoping Butterbean's kidney gets back to normal. Praying for him and your nausea to go away for good! And yes, you are showing! That shirt you had on in the FB pic was really loose so it didn't look like you were even pregnant. Cute belly!
